A unique network of government, academic, and civil society organizations and individuals spanning 25 countries (and counting), the NCD Asia Pacific Alliance was established to catalyze concerted regional action in response to the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Working across traditional boundaries, the Alliance serves as a platform for collaboration and joint advocacy on primary prevention and control of NCDs and their associated risk factors.

“One bamboo does not make a forest.”

~ Chinese proverb

Like the bamboo grove featured in the Alliance logo, our whole is greater than the sum of our parts; the Alliance’s strength derives from its emphasis on unified purpose and action. By working together from the regional to the local level in a mutually supportive network, our integrity is reinforced, our individual voices amplified, our scope of action expanded, and meaningful scientific progress accelerated toward reducing NCD-related death and disability worldwide.
